Our Mission
Berkshire Resource Project
The Berkshire Resource Project conducts a number of educational and community outreach efforts. We feel it is important to keep people up to date on issues relating to MS and to get people and organizations together to learn from each other, “Passing it on through the circle of caring.”
Our Mission:
- To periodically update website information for MS patients and families on treatments and research opportunities, with links to national and local support services in areas of nutrition, exercise programs, disability and insurance information; including a schedule of upcoming talks and programs in the western Massachusetts area.
- To provide those with MS with computer access at our offices for contact information and a lending library of educational and inspirational material.
- To maintain lists of volunteers and other nonprofit contacts for help with such needs as transportation, odd jobs and job training.
- To hold monthly talks in the area by physicians, social workers, psychologists, nutritionists, insurance and financial planning specialists. Teleconferences will be arranged for small groups or individual contact.
- To coordinate research studies to further understanding of cognitive, behavioral and other issues of MS in cooperation with and under contract with Neurological Research Center of Bennington, Vermont.
